Training Programs & Business Exchanges for capacity building in ISO 14001 based EMS Systems:

IRG has imparted more than ten ISO awareness training in textiles, automobile, steel and pulp and paper sector. Training provided included one-day awareness training, two-day implementation training and two-day auditor's training. Training enabled facilities to fully participate in the pilot program as it evolved and to build up additional ISO skills. These include:

  • Four facilities of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).

  • Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), - EMS based ISO 14001 standards.

  • IRG personnel developed two-day and three-day training programs for ISO managers and auditors respectively under contract to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). The program has since been delivered over 15 times in India.

  • IRG personnel participated as faculty in the training program, "ISO 14001 and its relevance to Indian Industry", organized by PHDCCI for Rajasthan Pollution Control Board and 35 industry representatives at Kota.

  • IRG personnel participated as faculty in the workshop, "ISO 14001" organized by Gujarat State Financial Corporation for industry representatives in Gujarat at Baroda.

  • IRG personnel participated as faculty in the workshop, "ISO 14001 and its relevance to Indian Industry", organized by Indian Chamber of Commerce, Calcutta for industry representatives in the eastern region at Calcutta.

  • IRG personnel participated as faculty in the workshop, "ISO 14001 and its relevance to Indian Industry", organized by IIT Delhi Alumni Association for NTPC and 30 other industry representatives at New Delhi.

  • IRG personnel participated as faculty for Greening of Supply Chain Management under EMS, in the workshop, "Educate the Educators and Curriculum Adaptation on Preventive Environmental Management", organized by NetPEM and IIIE, Lund University, Sweden under EU-India Economic Cross-Cultural Programme of European Commission, New Delhi.

  • IRG organised a workshop, "Environmental Performance and Productivity Improvement through ISO 14001 Implementation" for industry representatives in North India at Solan.

  • IRG organised a workshop for industries, "Sharing of experience of EMS based Indonesian Cleaner Production Program" in New Delhi.

  • IRG organised a workshop, "Awareness and Implementation of ISO 14001 Implementation" in Pulp & Paper sector in India.

  • IRG organised a workshop, "Awareness and Implementation of ISO 14001 Implementation" in Automobile sector in India.

  • IRG organised a workshop, "Awareness and Implementation of ISO 14001 Implementation" in Textile sector in India.

  • IRG organised a workshop on, "EMS and Greening of Supply Chain Management" for Ranbaxy Laboratories, Arvind Mills, Hindustan Levers, Bajaj Automobiles and other industry representatives.

  • IRG organised 4 lecture series on, "Global Perspectives for ISO 14001 and its Relevance for Industry in Developing Countries" at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Calcutta on EMS based ISO 14001 Standards for industry and government executives.

  • IRG planned and implemented an India-US business exchange for the representative from pulp and paper, automotive, textile and steel sector. The purpose of the exchange was to provide an opportunity to the delegates to witness the EMS approaches in the leading companies in similar sectors in the US and its effectiveness to improve their overall environmental performance.

  • IRG planned and implemented an India-US business exchange for SAIL executives, to provide an opportunity to the delegates to witness the EMS approaches in the leading Iron & Steel companies in the US and its effectiveness to improve their overall environmental performance.
